A little about us

In the spring of 1964 Howard & Larene Crook opened the doors of their newly purchased nursery. The original store was a small 20′ x 20′ block building with 2 small greenhouses attached. The Crook family continued to expand the nursery by offering more plants and products to help local gardeners. Howard’s son John purchased the business in 1983 and continued the fast-paced growth of the company turning it in to one of the most respected and premier garden centers in the area.

In 2021, John and his wife Diana retired giving longtime friend and employee Rex and Heather Andersen the opportunity to purchase Town & Country Gardens.

Her sheer joy for all things green is easily shared with anyone around her. She has three amazing children and has been married to Rex, her high school sweetheart and best friend for 29 years, and is excited for this new adventure, “Let’s have fun!”
