Why I Love Trees

Not my treehouse, but close.

Trees are tree-mendous!
I’ve always loved trees, from the time I built my first tree house at age 12. (Definitely not OSHA approved, but hey, we survived).  So this Friday (the last Friday in April)  is one of my favorite holidays- Arbor Day. It’s a great day to celebrate trees and how they make our world a better place. Some of the greatest damage we have done to our planet through the centuries has come because we didn’t realize the essential role trees play in our lives.

Plant a tree or two this Arbor Day. Take a moment to teach your kids and grandkids about the many contributions trees make to our world. The trees we plant beautify our neighborhoods, shade our patios, purify our air, provide shelter for birds and wildlife, protect our homes and crops from high winds, reduce our energy bills, and even help moderate our weather. We are all healthier and happier when we live amongst trees. Don’t believe me? Just try to say “trees” without smiling.
