February Monthly Gardening Checklist

Now is the time to prepare for spring and the gardening season ahead.

Vegetables and Flowers

  • Create a plan for your vegetable and flower gardens.

  • Start flower and vegetable seed indoors.

  • Use grow lights to encourage healthy growth of seedlings.

Birds and Wildlife

  • Feed birds with suet, black oil sunflower, and high quality wild bird seed.

  • Put a heated dish or heated birdbath in your yard to keep a supply of water open for the birds. Water will draw as many birds to your yard as feeders.

Topicals and Houseplants

  • Now is a good time to re-pot houseplants into slightly larger pots using Town & Country Professional Potting Mix

  • Begin feeding with Jack’s Houseplant Food to encourage healthy new growth.

  • Add Orchids, African violets, Bromeliads and other flowering plants to bring color indoors.

General

  • Attend gardening seminars at Town and Country Gardens. Check our website for our seminar schedule.

  • Clean and sharpen garden tools and pruners.
